Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning. It affects both children and adults and can make tasks like organization, focus, and time management more challenging.
Adjustment Disorder
Adjustment Disorder occurs when an individual has difficulty coping with a significant life change or stressful event, such as a divorce, job loss, or illness. Symptoms can include sadness, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed, but they are directly tied to the specific event.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety Disorders encompass a range of conditions, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and specific phobias. These disorders involve excessive fear or worry that is difficult to control and interferes with daily activities.
Binge Eating Disorder
Binge Eating Disorder is characterized by regularly consuming large amounts of food in a short period of time, often accompanied by feelings of loss of control and guilt. Unlike bulimia, it does not involve purging behaviors.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar Disorder involves intense mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). These shifts can impact energy levels, sleep, behavior, and the ability to think clearly.
Depression
Major Depressive Disorder is a mood disorder marked by a persistent feeling of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness. It may include changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, and interest in daily activities, lasting for weeks or longer.
Menopause-Related Cognitive Impairment (Brain Fog)
Some individuals experience memory lapses, trouble concentrating, or mental fatigue during menopause, commonly referred to as “brain fog.” Hormonal changes, especially drops in estrogen, are believed to contribute to these cognitive shifts.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD is characterized by unwanted, recurring thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Individuals may feel compelled to perform certain rituals or routines to ease their anxiety or prevent imagined dangers.
Panic Disorder
Panic Disorder involves sudden and repeated episodes of intense fear, known as panic attacks, that can cause physical symptoms like chest pain, heart palpitations, dizziness, or shortness of breath, often without a clear trigger.
Postpartum Depression
Postpartum Depression is a serious mood disorder that can affect individuals after childbirth. It goes beyond the “baby blues” and involves intense feelings of sadness, anxiety, or exhaustion that interfere with daily life and bonding with the baby.
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) / Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
PTSD and C-PTSD result from experiencing or witnessing traumatic events. C-PTSD often involves repeated trauma and can lead to long-lasting difficulties with emotional regulation, self-perception, and relationships.
Sleep Disorder
Sleep disorders, such as insomnia, sleep apnea, or restless leg syndrome, disrupt normal sleep patterns and impact overall health and well-being. They often result in daytime fatigue, mood disturbances, and difficulty concentrating.
